Rare 1937 Rheinmetall-Borsig Logo Marked MG34

A very rare deactivated early version MG34 dated 1937 with early 4 hole pattern barrel jacket and machined top cover. This one is part of the Portuguese contract and I believe unique to the order of 1000 guns that were sold to Portugal by the Germans during the war. I have never seen an early pattern MG34 in the contract as it was made predominantly up of ‘dot’ 1943 MG34s with some CRA marked guns and some DFB. A theory as to the reason of this is that they may have been a gun short in one of the 2 shipments and for some reason this early MG34 was still at the factory, perhaps sitting in a director’s office and was used to make up the numbers. Matching numbers complete with certificate.
